Food, Recreational, Habitat: The Boston Harbor Islands are an ecologically and historically important component of the Boston Harbor environment. They are popular recreation area for the surrounding community and tourists. They are popular fishing spot, and are one of the few places in Boston that offer sport fishing year round. The island ecosystems are now home to many different species including various insects, shorebirds, eelgrass, algae, fish, and invertebrates. it is also a natural seafood resource and also it plays a key role in the New England fish trade. Recreational: Charles River Reservation is a linear park stretching from Boston Harbor. The Reservation has many recreational opportunities for Bostonians like walking or birdwatching, and skating. Water Quality, Habitat: The Wachusett Reservoir is the second largest body of water in the state of Massachusetts. It is part of the water supply system for Boston. It is also contains 12 native and 12 introduced species of fish like brown trout, land-locked salmon Habitat: Parker River National Wildlife Refuge was established migratory birds. It is of vital stopover for waterfowl, shorebirds, and songbirds during migratory periods.
