Stocks and Flows Quezon City, Philippines People Although it’s as progressive as any city in the country, it’s not known as a business district as some cities within the metro (i.e. Makati, Taguig), encouraging some companies to setup office here as it is a little cheaper. This results in the influx of people towards the day, coming off from nearby cities. Similarly, city residents also often prefer to work here as there is less traffic, attributing to the fact that its business district is not as built-up. There is a planned business district in the city that will be completed in a few years, which should affect the flow of people in and out of the city. Food The city has quite a number of well-known food hubs that these commercial establishments are almost synonymous with the city. Large amounts of food are thus stocked and imported into the city due to both necessity and of globalization. The food industry positively affect the city’s economy, and as key areas in the city continue to develop in the next few years, this is expected to grow and to contribute more to the city’s growing economy. Capital As with any other city, capital is also one of the most important stocks and flows of Quezon City. Although not known for its business districts, the same thing cannot be said of its residential areas. Its residential areas are very much sought after for the quality of the environment, location, and convenience among others, that I think this is where the city compensates much of its needed capital. Its residential areas are priced quite expensive nowadays and which I think will continue to do so in the coming years. This can be seen as positive, as it will prevent overcrowding and preserve the quality of the area.
