This picture (source: http://img.informador.com.mx/biblioteca/imagen/370x277/723/722211.jpg) shows partially the great cultural problem of Mexico. In my humble opinion, this shows inductively the great challenge that this generation and future Mexican generations are facing: the ignorance at all levels. While, this is issue that may be commonly found in almost every country in some segments of the society. Definitely is a mayor issue when it comes to the authorities that are "elected" for the management and procurement of the city, who are not seemly as brightly minded or highly educated as one may desire. Without mentioning the geopolitical root causes of this issue and taking responsibility and ownership of this matter. It is clear that Mexico City faces great challenges in almost every aspect of the urban system. This complex problematic represent an encouraging design challenge, reflecting upon the quote by Albert Einstein; “the significant problems we face cannot be solved at the same level of thinking we were at when we created them." The solution for this problem is clearly to rethink the whole Mexico City as a sustainable future city.
