The Sanky diagram illustrates crude oil is the dominant fossil fuels and used for others excluding industry and transportation in Japan. It highlighted power stations, especially the nuclear, were established since 1994-5 for their cost performance well. After the earthquake in 2011, the nuclear power stations have been stopped to operate officially. Thus we are back to use fuel oil, coal and gas cost are higher than before and looking for substituting sources. Now Photovoltaic has been improving to build since then. However it needs huge capacity to put those facility and yet has been developing compact footprint as well as reduce energy loss. *This link will help you! https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_power_stations_in_Japan
