It is quite obvious where the Times Square in Manhattan would be withou the huge amount of energy and especially electricity. In Midtown Manhattan you have the feeling the city would immediately die without electricty and not being able to show their oversized billboard and screens. But you can find places like thes all over the world. Even in the poorest countries in the world you can see these billboard walls and screens, wasting energy and therefore this picture shows pretty exactly how dependend we are from the supply and infrastructure of energy.
