Hi! My name is Alvaro, and I'm from PerĂº. Here you can see the street where I live. From what you can see, this street is not that used neither by people nor by any kind of vehicle. After all, not much people around here have a car. The buildings are not much tall, the average of height of buildings in this street is around 10 meters. The buildings are not entirely finished as you can see no painting has been done. Also, streets lack green and public spaces. Only a couple of houses in the street have a garden of their own (one of them being the one showed by the three floor building in the right). Well, that's pretty much about the visible side of the story. The invisible aspects have to do, pretty much, with safety and environmental issues. Since there is not much of users around, -as Jacobs could say, there are not much eyes around to watch after the public's safety- there are 'seasons' when thieves do their thing, and of course, there are not much help that can be solicited because authorities are hardly around nor the neighbors are scared of getting hurt or stolen themselves. Environmental issues also rise here. Even though there is never traffic around here, when cars pass by, dirt rises and can be felt even in the highest floors (in fact, I suffer from it occasionally, even, from the third floor). You can say that when you hear ''Lima, the grey'' the myth opens up to reality. That's pretty much it, and I hope we can keep learning from each other.
