From home to work: I usually go on foot. It's about 30 minute walk, 2.2km. Bus is another option, which usually takes 20 minutes, but it is so expensive for a short distance. Ride a bike is dangerous, beacuse there is not special routs and the way is really step. By car it takes about 10 minutes, but I don't have one. I like to walk, because it's an exercise, I see a lot of different people and distract myself. On the other side, it can be a long walk when I'm carring a heavy backpack and I breath to much smoke from the cars. From work to the university: I take the bus eight blocks away from work. It's the best option, because it stops inside the university, while when I take the other buses I have to walk a lot to get to the building where I study. The bus ride usually takes 30 to 40 minutes. Bike and walk are not options, because of the long distance. It's not a good mode of transportation, it's usually crowded and I always go standing up, but it is the only option. From university to home: It's a long way, 10 km, so I can either take a ride with a friend or take the bus. The bus usually takes one hour and twenty minutes, while taking a ride by car with a friend takes about 40 minutes. The bus is usually crowded, full, expensive, unconfortable and it is not safe. My city does not have a good transportation system. The whole metropolitan region has over 4 million inhabitants, however the city does not have subway. The only public transportation is bus, which is unconfortable, slow, expensive and it is not safe. Futhermore, pedestrians are not a prority - cars are. This causes so many transportations problems, losses for economy, health, happiness and many other things.
