Date: 10/12/2016 at 5:32 pm This is the central road of Katechaki, where many industries are located. Some of their buildings are captured in the photo above. For that reason, in the afternoon, traffic is an often phenomenon, as workers leave their workplace to return to their homes. We can see that we are close to the picking time of the traffic. Public transportation is rare and in some cases inconvenient, that’s why workers choose their cars for their transportation in that suburb of Athens. From the visual information of traffic we can collect data regarding travel behavior of the inhabitants and with statistical analysis we can be able to examine the ways people choose for transportation (the major transportation choice are cars), the different age groups that travel in the area (between 25-65 years old we could say), the different hours of the day that people travel for their work mostly (pick traffic hours are between 7:30 – 9:30 and 17:00-18:00).With this information, we can provide better transportation service so more and more people would have the option to take the bus or the metro for their travels in the city. What is also interesting from the photo, is the building environment of that area. All we can see is industrial buildings. We may assume that the citizens rarely visit that area during the night and during the weekends. And this is a notable change of the city’s behavior.
