The dominant fossil fuels used in my country following www.iea.org/sankey are oil (crude and refined), cowl and gas. The dominant fossil fuels are mainly used for transportation, residential, commerce and public services. If my task is to create a new policy in order to improve the environmental friendly and sustainable sources and consumption of energy of my country, I would certainly improve the implementation of renewable technologies. With the Energy 2050 strategy we need more electricity but we shouldn’t use coal, gas or oil to create it. We need to improve the implementation of solar power, wind power and geothermal power. I think we should create a policy with an “obligation” to build solar power on roof where it’s possible. The hybrid ones (electricity and heat) seems to be a good idea. With them, we should be able to produce electricity and to charge soil with heat. We could use this heat in winter with a heat pump. With more renewable energy we should be able to go out of nuclear power and to use electricity for transportation. As we can see on the IEA Sankey for Switzerland, fossil fuels are mainly used for transportation. With more electricity production, we should be able to use more electric car but we need to have renewable energy for this. If we must use coal, gas or oil to produce electricity to run electric cars it is a nonsense. I think that CO2 tax are a nonsense to because we decrease the use of oil to use diesel or gas. In the case of diesel consumption, we pollute less with CO2 but more with Nox and PM. We don’t eliminate the problem, we repel it.
