The illustrates an offices development and the current London city hall beside Thames river designed by Norman Foster. At the back it is shown the Shard, tallest building in London designed by Renzo Piano. Three examples of globalized construction as follows: 1. Construction materials. The predominant use of glazed façades is an example of globalized architecture. The traditional English architecture is characterized by masonry thick walls with small-size windows in order to protect from the cold weather and retain the heat produced internally. 2. Construction technics. The glazed panels were imported from Germany as none English company were able to prefabricated them in all the range of shapes required and furthermore, guaranteeing it is strong enough in terms of structural wind loads. 3. Globalized economy. The steel was also imported from Spain as the costs of production are hugely cheaper. Also, due to the raise of the construction field in the United Kingdom, British steel industry is not able to not cover the whole demand of the country.
