a) Provisioning services: The city is sourranded by seven paramos that supply the city with pure water. This ecosystems provide a great diversity and play a vital role in the hydrological cycle. The city is sorrounded by mountains and all the territory is covered in rivers and rivulets. This condition gives the oportunity to cultivate and grow food, it is a place that have wáter avaible locally. b) Regulating services: Bogotá is a city that is surrounded by big green eastern mountains. It is consider a natural limit for the city and also a protected natural area. These enormous mountains continue through north and south. This large cordillera have a dense forest of native and non-native species that supply the city of rainfall and water availability both locally and regionally, they play an important role in regulating air quality by removing pollutants from the atmosphere. c) Habitat or Supporting services The habitat of Bogotá provides everything that an individual may need. Bogotá is also know as the city with the highest number of birds that immigrate from the north latitude, it is a perfect place for food, water and shelter for different species. For example there are sites like the Botanical Gardens that are excellent for spotting migratory species between November and April. The Jardin Encantado hummingbird garden in San Francisco offers sightings of the Ruby Topaz, the Gorgeted Woodstar and the Andean Emerald. d) Cultural services Bogotá offers different parks and places to relax and exercise. Also through the mountains are hiking paths were its possible to experience an ecological tour. These places role maintain a mental and physical health to the citizens, they enjoy them every day of the week. These places are considered protected areas for the citizens and they play an important spot in the city’s natural heritage.
