The place where this photograph was taken is near to one of the big foreign attraction areas of Itaewon. From this picture you could possibly figure this out by the union jack on the building, , but this could also be quitena stretch. The visible things in the image are as follows: the traffic, the buildings (shops and apartments), the trees which have no leaves (winter time), and the bus stop across the street, just to name a few. The invisible information includes the fact that the sub way runs directly under the road. South Korea has a very good public transport system, which includes trains and buses. What you cannot tell is how the people got to the area (public transport, own transport, or do they live there). This data could be obtained through using how the how many people get out at this stop. The other information that should be found out is the amount of foreigners that come through the area. This can help urban planners with regards to the amount of signage that is needed in different languages. There are English, Chinese and Japanese speaking people. Signage helps the non locals find their way around. It would also be useful information to have as to what makes this specific area appealing to foreigners. With the public transport system there are two main systems that are used. There is a subway card which you recharge and then you can also use your bank card as the public transport card. This could be useful information as to how many people have Korean bank accounts. The other information that cannot be seen is the pollution in the air. This is important factor in this area, as the air pollution is rather bad in the city. In the area that I live there is a notice board as you drive in that tells you what the pollution level is. However you only see this information when you are driving and not using the public transport. This information would be helpful for the public to know as there are masks that can be bought to help. This is important as the health of people can affect the economy with the amount of people that are sick and health is one of the fundamental rights that people have. Government would be able to see the areas which have the worst pollution and how it affects the people. Also if putting the information where people can see it, if it will make a difference.
