FC-01x Future Cities (Self-Paced) - Exercise 1 : "Making the Invisible - Visible"
Uploaded on 2017-03-22 by Mariana Diniz
This photo was taken in the market square in Diamantina – MG. 1 – There are several visible elements on this image: parked cars; people on square, in most case just walking; some historical buildings, that nowadays are used as commercial buildings; and the market, that is one of the town symbols and has a great historical importance today. 2 – Although at some times of the year this space is is frequented culturally or when there is some festive event, on ordinary days we can realize that it is just a place of passage and parking for people who work or live in the surroundings. We also see that there are spaces that can be used by people and that, nevertheless, do not call attention as a place of living. 3 - Because it is a square that is located in the central part of the town and where there is possibility of appropriation, there should be more trees to better shade the space and a landscaping that caught the attention of people; more benches for people to sit and spend more time enjoing the place. And about the market, that is almost always empty, could be a place frequented by people, since it is possible to present exhibitions and concerts, even if there is not happening any event in the town.
