Question 1: what are the dominant fossil fuels used in your country? Answer 1: The dominant fossil fuels used in Italy are oil products (47.8 Mtoe in 2014, 41% of the total consumption) and natural gas (31.4 Mtoe in 2014, 27% of the total consumption) [ref: http://www.iea.org/sankey/#?c=Italy&s=Balance, 17/03/2017]. Question 2: here are the dominant fossil fuels mainly used for in your country? Answer 2: Oil products are mainly used in transport (32.3 Mtoe in 2014, 68% of the total oil products consumption), and natural gas in residential (15.0 Mtoe in 2014, 48% of the total natural gas consumption) [ref: http://www.iea.org/sankey/#?c=Italy&s=Balance, 17/03/2017]. Question 3: It is your task to create a new policy in order to improve the environmental friendly and sustainable sources and consumption of energy of your country. How would you do that? Think of how you can improve the sources and the consumption of energy. Answer 3: I would improve the exploit of natural gas, and I would encourage and put in my political agenda to develop the important exploit of biofuel and waste (7.4 Mtoe in 2014, 6% of the total consumption), solar/tide/wind (0.2 Mtoe in 2014, 0.17% of the total consumption), and geothermal (0.1 Mtoe in 2014, 0.08% of the total consumption). Sardinia, the region where I live (an island in the Mediterranean Sea), would be a very fertile field for solar/tide/wind exploit, being subject to sun and wind all along the year.
