1)Recognizing Stocks and Flows: First of all, the place chose is localized around 90 minutes from the city centre named Mogi das Cruzes which is a county of São Paulo’s city. That place is not a city, is a community inhabited by about 250 people and they developed a system that help themselves to live like peoples who lives in a city. There are not clothes store, market, water and sewer’s system, et cetera. The three crucial points identified which could become stocks and flows are: Food, Water and Density. 2)Stocks and Flows Food: Once per month almost 30 men go to the centre city and buy basic food like rice, bean, oil, sugar. The rest of food such as vegetables or meat is produced by themselves, so it means that some families have a kitchen garden and another families have some animals, like chicken or cows. Thus all that food is divided among the neighbours. Water: There is not system of company water. To take a shower, to drink and cook they using pumped water from well and for animals, water kitchen garden, to clean the house or flush the toillet they using water from lakes. Density: Around twenty years ago this community had around 210 people who were born and lived there. The increase of inhabitants happened weddings, in other words sons and daughters of the community’s members marry between themselves making to grow up the population. Thereby, this community survive year after year by their own way. 3) Conclusion The community presented needs investments by companies so it can grow up and the concept of stocks and flows could be applied. A supermarket could solve the problem about food. A company of water and sewer could bring more quality of water than now for the population and basic sanitation as well. About density as the community would become an attractive place to live is possible that other people come to live in it as well. Therefore, all patterns of that place will change and the life is going to be more interesting than is currently. 4) Important I do not took this picture.
