Picture is from: www.iea.org/sankey The dominant fossil fuels in use in my country, as per iea.org, are oil, coal and natural gas. The main use of these fossil fuels are for industry and transport. In order to improve the environmental friendly and sustainable sources and consumption of energy of the US, I would enact multiple policies: * redirect the current fossil fuel subsidies for investment into renewable energy production and storage * provide incentives for energy efficiency projects through carbon taxes * require water and land stewardship plans for local municipalities (might be better done at the local level) * institute education and awareness programs for citizens to understand the risks and challenges that we face as a nation, and to give them a way to engage in the response process (also may be better done at the local level. some cities have pursued backcasting or placemaking to engage the community to collectively envision the future)
