My answers to the optional exercise in the Module 3 are: 1. How would you define livability? Livability is the characteristic that have or must to have a place to be livable, which is the basic coditions to live and it's accord with the legal rules to give satisfaction to the needs of the human being, for example: economic conditions, physical, climatic conditions and physico-social. 2. If you need to define livability with the following terms, how would you rank them? I would rank them in the next order: 1. Opportunity. 2. Environment. 3. Health. 4. Transportation. 5. Housing. 6. Engagement. 7. Neighborhood. 3. My three cities chosen were: Los Angeles, Miami Dade and Washinton DC 4. The table for each city is: Los Angeles: 47 Customized Livability Score Change (+/-) -Housing (36) 45 +9 -Neighborhood (63) 47 -16 -Transportation (40) 47 +7 -Environment (26) 45 +19 -Health (65) 47 -18 -Engagement (50) 47 -3 -Opportunity (46) 47 +1 TOTAL CHANGE: -1 Miami Dade: 50 Customized Livability Score Change (+/-) -Housing (50) 50 0 -Neighborhood (60) 51 -9 -Transportation (60) 60 0 -Environment (55) 52 -3 -Health (56) 52 -4 -Engagement (35) 51 +15 -Opportunity (32) 49 +17 TOTAL CHANGE: -1 Washington DC (59) Customized Livability Score Change (+/-) -Housing (54) 55 +1 -Neighborhood (51) 55 +4 -Transportation (52) 55 +3 -Environment (66) 56 -10 -Health (57) 56 -1 -Engagement (54) 56 +2 -Opportunity (55) 56 +1 TOTAL CHANGE: -1 5. How much has the livability score of every city changed? CITY LIVABILITY SCORE CUSTOMIZED LIVABILITY SCORE CHANGE (+/-) Los Angeles 47 46 -1 Miami Dade 50 49 -1 Washington DC 59 58 -1 6. I think that the change in every city it is the result of they wanted to improve in some aspects but neglected others, for example: in Los Angeles grew the housing, transportation, environment and opportunity but fell strongly the heighborhood and health; in Miami Dade fell the neighborhood, the environment and health and in Washington DC the fell in the environment influenced strongly in the total score.
