What are the dominant fossil fuels used in your country? Oil Product (11.91 Mtoe), Electricity (3.99 Mtoe), Natural Gas (1.28 Mtoe) Coal (0.17 Mtoe) Where are the dominant fossil fuels mainly used for in your country? (eg. Transport, Industry, Non-energy use) Non-Energy use industry (6.68 Mtoe), Non-specified (industry) (2.84 Mtoe), Chemical and petrochemical (2.41 Mtoe), Road (2.21 Mtoe) It is your task to create a new policy in order to improve the environmental friendly and sustainable sources and consumption of energy of your country. How would you do that? Think of how you can improve the sources and the consumption of energy.? Being 1 of the world’s best economy in recent years, Singapore definitely has a lot of existing policy to improve the sustainable usage and consumption of energy. If I would create new policy, I would encourage people to invest on solar panels/ photo-voltaic to harness solar energy especially since we are in a tropical climate. On a macro scale, Singapore has rainwater and storm water collection measures, but I would like to promote the collection measures to the micro levels, e.g. small houses/ developments. Another area I can see improvement, is the used of bicycles for daily routine/ works. Currently there are existing bicycle lanes and park connector around the city-state. If companies will support the use of bicycles for their employees travel everyday to work. Means company to provide shower areas and bike park lots near the offices. This will definitely lessen the necessity of using private & public transportation.
