I chose this picture taken by me in Manhattan, NYC, to show how does a huge city depend on it's infrastructure - by that I mean Electricity. We are surrounded by it every day of our life. Here you can see usage of electrical energy in a city scale - it is used for lightning in everyday life for interiors and exteriors of buildings. New York is the city that never sleeps and it wasn't said with no reason - as soon as sun gets down, the power of electricity changes the colors of the whole city, making a picture of a New York at night so recognizable almost for everyone - doesn't matter if you've visited New York or no. Lightning is used everywhere - in shops, on the bus stops, on the highways, bridges, in the subway, restaurants, Broadway show announcements... In this scale and in this use I think, electricity also plays a role in making shape of a city individual and recognizable.
