This photo was taken from the Eiffel Tower. It’s possible to see the Paris Liberty Island on the Seine River. There is an abundance of information present within this image ranging from the street network of Paris, to an indication of the traffic on the Seine and vehicle movement paths through the street network. Specific information, which is present, includes: - the street network and layout of Paris - the distribution of bridges over the Seine - the presence of green space - the metro, boat, car traffic - the different types and age of building - the great expansion of Paris Two “invisible information” that can be extracted out of the visible information of this photo could be the movement of people through the street network and the utilisation of the river as energy, drinkable or domestic water, or for transportation. If we look in detail the utilisation of the Seine River, it’s possible to have information about where the water comes from and where it goes; how it is used; how it is treated; what its energy potential is; what is its contribution to the city and its development. If the water were cleaned and respected, life in Paris would be healthier and the treatment of water would cost less to the city. It is also important to monitor this river to prevent flooding.
