FC-01x Future Cities (Self-Paced) - Exercise 1 : "Making the Invisible - Visible"
Uploaded on 2016-07-06 by Luiset Julien JulienL17
The city presented in this photo is Geneva. We can see some visible information like transportation (boat and cars), the infrastructures needed like roads, bridge or port. We can see information infrastructures with the RTS tower behind the fountain. We can also see parks, historical monuments and recreational facilities. In the background we can see some lands which are some clue for agriculture. We can identify two invisible information which are the pollution coming from transportation in one hand and energy demand in the other hand. If we take the example of energy supply, we can use data from citizens to make consumption maps. We can use data from transportation or activities to analyze the demand in energy. It could tell us where people spend the most of time and the data could be use with sunshine to determine where we should build new solar panel for example. With those information, we could better plan our cities and the offer of energy could better respond to the demand.
