For me, the livability means being able to go to work, drop by the grocery or post office, see a doctor, go out to dinner and a movie or walk with friends in a park, all without having to get in a car. “Livable communities are places where transportation, housing, and commercial development investments have been coordinated so that people have access to adequate, affordable, and environmentally sustainable travel options. Neighborhood is very important to me. When I customized the term “Neighborhood at the Livability index into a higher importance, the total livability score went up. This means that the Neighborhood is not a very important criterion in the livability score. I overestimate this notion compared to the overall average. It shows that the livability is a relative term, with different meanings for different people.
