1. What are the dominant fossil fuels used in your country? I’m typing from Belgium but since my homeland is Italy I’d like to, for this exercise, consider italy. The dominant fossil fuels used in italy ( 2014 ) is: - Oil ( 65,7 millions of tonnes ) - Gas ( 50,6 millions of tonnes ) - Coal ( 13.,2 millions of tonnes ) 2. Where are the dominant fossil fuels mainly used for in your country The hitting chart fossil fuel, the oil, is mostly used for the sector of transport ( 34 millions of tonnes) 3. It is your task to create a new policy in order to improve the environmental friendly and sustainable sources and consumption of energy of your country. How would you do that? Think of how you can improve the sources and the consumption of energy. The use of fossil fuel is, of course, negative for the waste product of the combustion of these products, the CO2. A good environmental policy should take as first aim to reduce the CO2 in the atmospheare and since the first use of the mainly used fossil fuel in my country the oil is for transportation probably this should be the first sector to be renovated anhancing the use of public transport instead of the private car, starting to use electric or hybrid cars, developing a street etwork more cyclist and pedestrian friendly in order to enhance the use of these last way of mobility.
