(I send the Sankey Diagram of my country, Spain, with the data of 2013) 1- What are the dominant fossil fuels used in your country? The dominant fuel is, by large, the oil, with 64,8 millions of tones per year. The next one is gas, with 30,9 millions of tones. The other fossil fuels are less demanded: nuclear with 14,8 millions of tones, bio/waste with 7 millions of tones, coal with 8,1 millions of tones, etc. 2- Where are the dominant fossil fuels mainly used for in your country? The main use for fossil fuels in Spain is the transport systems, with 28,2 millions of tones used, from which 95% are based on oil. Industrial uses are the next ones, wih 20,1 millions of tones: 45% from natural gas, 30% from electricity, 13% from oil and 11% from others. The power losses are very big too: about 23,4 millions o tones are lost. 3- It is your task to create a new policy in order to improve the environmental friendly and sustainable sources and consumption of energy of your country. How would you do that? Think of how you can improve the sources and the consumption of energy. The consumer economy in Spain is heavily based on the use of gas and oil, almost completely. The use of renewable energy is very little extended, since the user is penalized by energy companies if he produces clean energy: if you produce renewable energy, you have to pay a huge bonus to connect to the supply network. These policies throw back a large number of users: it is more expensive to produce renewable energy that consume energy from the producer companies. In fact, lately it has entered into force the called "Sun taxes", by which high taxes are charged to users that produce solar energy. New policies to make the country more sustainable environment are necessarily reduce or cancel these abusive taxes from energy companies, and even subsidizing the production of renewable energy for consumers and businesses. The user could produce renewable energy and sell surplus energy to the supply grid. In the same way, through grants it could get a high percentage of the energy used in industry were renewable. I think reduce such taxes on renewable energy policy it is the first and most urgent policy, to make a most sustainable country: in a ecological, economical and social way.
