This image shows how improper infrastructure planning can create problems for citizens. On Constant Spring Road, one of the main streets in Kingston, these images illustrates the street poles and placement of utilities on buildings. In the case of street lights, some of them are not properly installed and most times are in the middle of the sidewalks, creating a barrier for most pedestrians. These already narrow sidewalks are a hazard for pedestrians who have to go onto the roads which is dangerous. Also the image on the left shows the uncluttered wires on the electric poles making the roads unaesthetic-ally pleasing. In Jamaica, we have a major issue when it comes to proper maintenance and management of our infrastructure and this can pose problems not just for the city itself but more importantly for the citizens.
