Hi! This is an image of the market area near my residence. 1) The possible information that we can gather from this image are : a. Number of people visiting the market during the morning, Afternoon and the evening sessions. (The market closes for the buyers at 9pm.) b. The age of the buyers visiting the market c. No of vehicles coming in the market that need parking facilities. d. The quality and quantity of urban services required to be employed for the sellers as well as the buyers. e. Area allocation for the vendors and minimum street clearance for the traffic flow. f. Types of vehicles entering the zone at different times of the day. 2) Two basic information that can be taken out from the Picture are: a. Types and number of buyers visiting the market at this time (Late Evening) - We can observe that people of all ages and both male and female can be easily spotted in the image. the number of people coming to the market at the evening time is quite high and hence requires good urban services to cater such large flow of users. b. The vehicles count and types- As is evident from the scene, Nearly all smaller vehicles including two and three wheelers can be spotted in the photograph. Plus it seems parking facilities are not available and which decreases the net free permissible area for the street. No large vehicles or heavy vehicles spotted. 3) From the observation related to the vehicular typology, the following invisible information can be assessed: a. No parking facility, b. No large/heavy vehicles plying c. Common Pedestrian + Vehicular passage d. Halting spaces for vehicles. With the above points in mind, the following can be suggested to ensure smoother and better commuting experience both for the vehicular users and the pedestrians: a. On-Street Parking facilities and Halting bays for public transport vehicles. b. Separate pedestrian track or marked division between the vehicular and pedestrian flow on street. c. Rules enforcement for parking and halting of vehicles on streets midway. d. Restriction of any entry of large/Heavy vehicles during high inflow time zones.
