This is the picture I took in the heart of Jakarta, on the way to the rooftop restaurant called SKYE. To make this megaproject running, the collaboration had to be make in a massive scale, it has to be an international collaboration. The funding came from Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) as a loan. A company is made to run this project, called PT MRT Jakarta. The contractors including: - Tokyu-Wika JO - OSJ JV (Obayashi - Shimizu - Jaya Konstruksi) - SOWJ JV (Shimizu - Obayashi - Wijaya Karya - Jaya Konstruksi) - SMCC-HK JO (Sumitomo Mitsui - Hutama Karya) - Metro One Consortium (Mitsui & Co. - Toyo Engineering Corporation - Kobe Steel, Ltd - Inti Karya Persada Tehnik) - Sumitomo Corporation - JIC JV (Japan International Consultants for Transportation Co., Ltd. (JIC), Nippon Koei Co. Ltd. (NK), Oriental Consultants Global Co., Ltd. (OC Global), Padeco Co., Ltd. (PADECO) and collaboration with East Japan Railway Company (JRE), Tokyo Metro Co., Ltd. (Tokyo Metro), PT Matra Rekayasa Internasional (MATRA), PT Dardela Yasa Guna (DARDELA), PT Perentjana Djaja (PD), and PT Metro Transportama Consultant (MTC). Mostly they are from Japan. From a little research, it turns out that are a lot of technologies came from Japan, including the Antareja Tunnel Boring Machine (TBM) and even the trains are from Japan. While the materials mostly from Indonesia, like the cement, sands, and other materials. But I believe, it's more than that. It's not simply Japan and Indonesia. I can't have the data yet, but little things like a lamp, they may use Phillips lamps which is came from Netherland. Electrical system like magnetic-contactor they maybe using Schneider brand which came from France. And maybe computers using Lenovo brand which is from China. In the era of globalization like we have now, it's almost impossible to finish a megaproject, without having components from other countries. Again, I'm having problem uploading my full resolution picture, so if you want the full resolution, please contact me via e-mail at triemilalim@me.com.
