a. Provisioning services Saudi Arabia is a desert country and has to heavily rely on imported produce for food. However, the government established an Agricultural Development Fund aims to support agricultural development and sustainability by providing soft loans and credit facilities necessary. b. Regulating services The governmental authorities are encouraging growing more trees and increasing the vegetation cover in the city which is reflecting on decreasing the overall temperature. c. Habitat or Supporting services Saudi Arabia has several geographic regions, each with a diversity of plants and animals adapted to their own particular habitats. There are almost 3,500 species of plant have been recorded in the country. The government has initiated a captive breeding programme, the oryx has since been successfully reintroduced into the wild in a fenced reserve of over 2,200 km2, where the goitered gazelle and mountain gazelle are also to be found. d. Cultural services The government is transforming the historical locations into cultural centers to serve as a nucleus for urban and cultural development. The parks have become a hub for people of all walks of life to meet and interact.
