About "Stocks and Flows" come to my mind some examples that occur or have occurred some time ago. In the Amazon region of Brazil, specifically in the city where I live - Macapá - the inhabitants have the culture of consuming Acai. However, the cultivation of such fruit does not occur in the city, in the urban area specifically. The culture occurs in the riverside communities along the Amazon River. After the cultivation of the fruit, the supply of these is put to the demand of the cities, part of this demand is for own consumption and another part is for travel. In the latter case, export is exemplified, even in a small way, but it is a fact that occurs, since the product is abundant only in this region in Brazil. In addition to the Acai case, other fruits, vegetables, vegetables and grains are derived from communities far from the Urban Tissue. Not to mention the case of Supermarkets and Markets, I would like to portray the case of the Free Trade Shows that are still the main retail environments of the main cities of the Amazon. Even with the advent of other buildings representing the tertiary space, the Fairs are still commonly frequented. There occurs the sale of products from these communities relatively distant from the urban center, routinely on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Outside the context of food, the city of Macapá has passed a few times during its history with the implementation of mining companies. The case of greater relevance was the case of ICOM, which for some decades was responsible for the extraction and export of Manganese. Before the effective implementation of the company in the region, an infrastructure was created for both work and housing. This fact, brought a significant increase in population. And so it lasted during such decades. However, at the end of the contract that allowed the activity, practically caused a desertification of the cities that will accommodate the company and its representatives.
