1. My country is the United States of America, the dominant fossil fuels used here are Oil Products, Natural Gas and Coal. 2. The dominant fossil fuels are mainly used for transport (roads, automobiles and various other forms of mobile transport) residential use and commerce and public services. 3. To improve the environmental friendly and sustainable sources and consumption of energy in my country I would make some drastic changes. First would be to offer many financial and tax incentives to NOT drive cars for non-essential use during PEAK hours such as work hours or Friday & Saturday nights, and to encourage more people to use mass transportation and when possible non-co2 emitting forms of transport like bicycles. I would invest heavily in the larger use of and better research of using Solar Energy. According to the Sankey diagram of The USA, we barely use any and that’s really a shame given that the Sun emits lots of unused energy every day for nothing, but if that energy were properly used, understood and concentrated into the powering of buildings, roads, homes and other man made systems, it could drastically reduce the use for fossil fuels. I fully believe the future will see the drastic improvement , adoption and use of highly concentrated solar cells to sustain the massive amounts of free power given from the Sun. Next, I would like car makers to continue the trend of moving to electric powered vehicles versus petroleum based ones. Another important investment for mass transport related to the environment would be to move from our current diesel powered trains and buses to systems used in France and Japan that use magnet powered bullet trains and buses. Companies like Tesla are pioneers in the new age of energy sustainability. Finally, I would make it so that non-beneficial and risky uses of energy like oil, dirty coal and nuclear energy are heavily taxed and the owners of major companies in those fields are encouraged to find cleaner, healthier and less dangerous ways of powering the nation, while companies using Solar, Wind and Hydropower are taxed LESS and given more incentives and encouragement to expand as much as possible.
