1. Three important stocks and flows in Kaduna, the capital of Kaduna state in north-west Nigeria, are concrete(material) , rice (food) and Forest (trees). 2. Firstly, Nigeria is a developing country and kaduna city is growing with it under a government trying to improve the socio-economic condition of the city. As a result, a lot of construction work is going on and concrete is a the most popular construction material used for construction. Large amounts of cement, granite and sand are moving into the city to satisfy the concrete thirst and many infrastructure are going up. Concrete flows. Secondly, the most consumed food in Nigeria is rice even though the country cannot produce enough rice to meet the demand. Therefore, rice is imported from Asian countries like Malaysia, Thailand and Taiwan. This proceeds to nutrition and fecal matter. Rice flow. Thirdly, although Kaduna is located in the sahel savannah region of Sub-Saharan Africa, it is close enough to the tropical rain forest for trees to grow. There are forests which are used for firewood for cooking and raw materials for paper industries and there are also protected forest reserves. The changes in forests can classify as stock or flow depending on the the forest and how long it is observed. 3.The rate of consumption of concrete, rice and Forest resources are detrimental to the economy and ecology of the city as they are not sustainable environmentally and financially. However, at the level of development of the city this might be the only feasible means of attaining development until a more sustainable solution can be derived.
