This is the house of the Architect Alejandra Caballero (the picture was downloaded by the portal http://www.bosquedeniebla.com.mx/cur10.htm), who imparts a workshop of sustainable construction at the Universidad Iberoamericana. The construction system is based on clay mixed with straw in several techniques for different applications. Personally, I enjoyed this workshop very much, since I learned about how to build a house 100% sustainable. The problem that I've found promoting the use of adobe as construction material in Mexico is that most of people dislike the idea of their houses made out of clay. I found the same problem in the UK, where most of the British citizens conceive their houses made out of brick. Therefore I consider that there is cultural weight on the construction material to be considered in the development of further sustainable construction materials.
