Provisioning services Fresh water is one element of provisioning services. quarter of the water in aachhen is groundwaterand the rest comes from Eifel (134 Km far from the city of Aachen), which is a low mountain range in western Germany and eastern Belgium. It is bisected by numerous streams and small rivers. b. Regulating services Regarding regulating services, there is a political will to reduce the concentration og greeenhousgases. This is not done by building more green area and siding walks but by issuing a more restrict green zones a round the city with enforcmeent measuremens in the downtown. c. Habitat or Supporting services natural diversity of a wilderness is reflected in both Aachen forest and Eifel National Park. One example is the protection of biodiversity by taking care of home to the biggest population of wild cats in middle Europe in the National park of Efel. d. Cultural services The name "Aachen" means "river" or "stream", from Old High German ahha, meaning "water" or "stream". The location has been inhabited by humans since the Neolithic era, about 5,000 years ago, attracted to its warm mineral springs. Thermal water attracts thousands of tourits for health reasons.
