The city Chandigarh has examples of all the ecosystem services. 1. Provisioning Services - Mangroves are found in several belts within the city that provide fresh fruits to the city and its hinterland. 2. Regulating Services - The city of Chandigarh boasts of a system of open spaces most commonly known as the "Leisure Valley" that act as lung spaces for the city and provide clean air and maintain the environmental quality in the city. 3. Habitat Services - Sukhna Lake acts as a home to migratory birds. 4. Cultural Services - The theme parks developed in various sectors (neighbourhoods) helps in walking and playing sports in green space that is not only a good form of physical exercise but also lets people relax. The role that green space plays in maintaining mental and physical health is increasingly being recognized.
