1-Copenhagen 2-Rotterdam/Amsterdam 3-Berlin 4-Seattle 5-Boston 1- The climate, it's the most important factor of livability in my opinion. 2- Safety and political stability, no one can live happy when they don't feel safe somewhere. 3- Transportation, getting to places should be easy and smooth. Public transportation and bike paths and alternative transportation options other than cars can make a city very livable. Getting stuck in traffic and wasting hours in traffic daily could be very annoying and wasteful and definitely decreases livability. 4- Recreational possibilities. I think for the citizens to stay productive they need to have opportunities to release stress. 5- Urban and territorial planning. When the city is well planned alot of issues can be solved. For example housing problems and urban sprawl problems could be solved by urban planning a city well. My City Riyadh 1- The climate is pretty bad and it keeps getting worst, due to global warming, the increasing use of ACs and the city also keeps growing. I think a solution to that is start using more sustainable and Eco friendly methods of air conditioning. Second is to start switching to electric powered vehicles. 2- Riyadh is a pretty safe and stable city so no issues here. 3- Transportation in Riyadh is very bad actually and we have huge traffic problems. But a great public transportation network is getting built currently and that should fix the problem hopefully. 4- Unfortunatily there isn't that much to do for recreational purposes here in Saudi in general. But it's getting much better and the government is trying to solve this issue. Personally I think that a person can always find something fun to do anywhere in the world, its just a matter of contentment. 5- Urban planning in Riyadh also used to be very bad and we have huge urban sprawl issues. but I think we are getting the hang of it and things are looking to get better in the next few years.
