First, identify the most important stocks and flows (at least three) entering, staying in and eventually leaving your area (or city). desalinated water, Vehicle fuel, Concrete Describe your findings based on the concept of stocks and flows by presenting the necessary information or examples. In Riyadh we don't have sufficient fresh water sources so we rely on desalinated water. Water is desalinated on the east coast and pumped to Riyadh. It gets consumed and whatever excess water is left is used as a gray water system to feed the trees, anyways it will eventually go back to the earth and the cycle is complete. so this kind of water is definitely a Flow. Almost 100% of cars and vehicles in SA run on Gasoline and Diesel. Personal cars, buses, big trucks, construction machinery all run on gas or diesel. It's turned into energy ans CO2 so its also a flow. Concrete is one of the main construction materials here in Saudi, if not the most important. it's produced in various places in the kingdom then transported into the city then to construction sites. I guess it's a flow that becomes a stock once it's used in construction. Imagine and shortly describe how these stocks and flows could change in the future for the benefit of your area. Well hopefully water will be produced by condensing it from the air or any other sustainable and renewable source. Because now it's getting desalinated by using oil to achieve that, and that's a very wasteful expensive and unsustainable method. Also, for fuel hopefully we'll be running on solar energy and other renewable sources as well as electricity production in the country. For concrete I think we also need to find local materials that are more sustainable like clay mud adobe hay and mix them with more modern techniques of producing them and using them in construction.
