Ecosystems in my living area. Caracas the capital of Venezuela, is located just next the a big mountain which is parte the Cordillera de la Costa Central. The beginning of the Avila is 5 minutes from my home by car or 30 minutes by walking. There it is possible to find all the four types of Ecosystem Services. Provisioning Services: Food and Fresh water. There are a lot of waterfalls in this area. Water flows through the mountain as crops for food do. Regulating Services: Local Climate and Air Quality, Pollinations. The Avila mountain of part of a huge natural park where there are trees to improve the local climate and Air Quality as insects doing pollination activities. Habitat or supporting services: Habitat for species. This places is the stop of some birds that are going from north america to south america and vice versa. As part of the migratory process of birds. Cultural services: Recreation and mental and physical health. Tourisim. This mountains is the place where Caracas´ inhabitants go for recreation activities. They also go to find quiet places for mental and physical health, surrounding of trees, trying to be relaxed. It is also a places for tourism due the species you can see here and the view you of Caracas.
