5 most liveable cities: I only lived and worked in basically 3 cities, these ranked below 1. Ghent 2. Eindhoven 3. Brussels 5 aspects that make city livable 1. excellent basic supplies: housing, electricity, water, gas, food, public transport 2. human scale of city: feeling as a respected individual with a city made to support small scale, including green spaces 3. work access in my sector 4. broad scale of free time options of high quality: theater, dance, free time clubs 4. creative atmosphere Current status of Eindhoven on these aspects ,1= hardly present, 3: ok, 5: perfect: 1. excellent basic supplies, STATUS: 4. No real issues, almost perfect for housing, electricity, water, gas, food. Some glitches in public transport. 2. human scale of city: STATUS: 4. some lack of human scale in the center of town, center is almost pure shopping and dining area. Hardly residential. 3. work access in my sector: STATUS: 4. As high tech region it is one of the better region in the Netherlands. However it can not compare to Silicon Valley. 4. broad scale of free time options of high quality: theater, dance, free time clubs. STATUS 3: a large scale of activities is offered, however the quality is clearly less than for instance in AMsterdam (with a top orchestra, top theater) 4. creative atmosphere. STATUS 4: some areas are moving from old industrial sites to creative hot stops. Dutch Design Week is organised in Eindhoven.
