Top 5 most liveable city that I came across are- 1 Newcastle upon Tyne 2 London 3 Edinburg 4 Sydney 5 Zurich Five characteristic that makes the city most liveable- 1 Population 2 Structured and defined spaces 3 Pollution level- Health index 4 Abundant supply of resources like energy, water etc 5 Mobility- mainly public transport The city I live in is Bangalore, India. The city lacks livability in all the above aspects. It is neither structured or a planned city in past and neither there is any strategy for future planning in an orderly manner and reduce the pollution level or the population growth. The city lacks proper infrastructure in many areas which is left to the mercy of local mayors and developers. The water and electricity supply is a major issue. It is a city which has a promising future growth due to attractive work culture and many top companies offering best jobs are located here. Moreover its a cosmopolitan city in India. The city can be made liveable and investers will benefit if they offer a well defined and developed city with reduced pollution level. The public transport and roads needs to be developed and well connected with pavements. The drain systems needs to be improved. The zoning of residential commercial needs to be revamped and followed by the government without any political agenda or bribery. The city leveablility will become better once the pollution level is brought down. The climate which was once considered best for living few years ago now has raised the temperature due to vast irregular construction and cutting of trees. Once a cool pleasant city now has a hot climate and also due to this the health of the citizens are in danger. The future of the city lies in the hands of proper political agendas of municipal authorities, ministers, architects, planners, researchers and citizens itself.
