This picture was taken in the city of riyadh. The building is a typical residential single family house. the photo was taken during the process of pouring concrete for the columns. This is the most common way of building here, and almost all the building materials used in most buildings here are locally produced. We produce steel, concrete, bricks, glass, aluminium, isolation oil produced materials, different kinds of finishing rocks like marble and granite. The Only thing I can think of that is imported in most of our buildings is the wood that's used as molding for pouring concrete, and that is disassembled and reused everytime. However, I think our method of building is very expensive and unsustainable. We need to find better more sustainable renewable materials. In my opinion we should really investigate in Adobe building methods and combine it with more modern techniques. Thanks Best, -Moe
