FC-01x Future Cities (Self-Paced) - Exercise 1 : "Making the Invisible - Visible"
Uploaded on 2017-01-12 by Livia
Taken during a holiday in December 2016. Apparently a normal street, there are some features that can be further analysed. The lights present in the street could not only provide light for safety of pedestrians and cars but also be used as wifi stations, air pollution detectors etc.. The sky is grey but with the current technology solar panels could be installed on the facades and roofs of buildings to provide a supply of energy. In the back of the picture there are some cars. Who knows in the future these may be automated ones that maximise the passengers taken and decrease traffic in the city. The cars could also be connected to each other to eliminate abrupt braking leading to more pollution and accidents. On the left of the picture there is a camera present, safety in cities is critical and effective monitoring through existing devices could be used to deliver multiple benefits for citizens, governments and businesses. Sadly in the street there are no cycling lanes but only pedestrian ones
