The city of Jaipur is the first planned city of the 18th century , elaborated from the beginning as a new capital. It is founded in the North Eastern part of Rajasthan in 1727. The conception of the city had a very strong planning concept based on ancient Indian theory and practice, called Vastu Vidya. This offered a clear prescription and description of the traditional Indian cities, but it offered a wide range of possibilities for its application.
