FC-01x Future Cities (Self-Paced) - Exercise 1 : "Making the Invisible - Visible"

This picture was taken in my neighborhood in Austin, Texas. This is a residential area and some of the information you can see from this picture is the following. First of all, this picture was taken on the 3rd of January and we can still see that the grass is green and some of the trees still have their leaves. This indicates that this area does not have severe winters and on the contrary we can observe that it is an extremely mild winter. Secondly we can observe that the house in the picture like the majority of the houses in this area have only one floor which shows people's tendency at least in this part of the country to prefer spreading out horizontally rather than vertically. We can also see that the garage is not protected. They basically have a concrete paved strip which serves as a garage. This is again an indication that the weather is not severe enough to require a special structure to serve as a garage. Lastly, we can see that this house has a relatively big front yard with no fences, both common features in this part of the town. These indicate a sentiment of relative safety as well as appreciation for having green space instead of a bigger house.
