My photograph shows a new residential flat under construction in Stratford London. I have found that despite the materials being provided by local companies, the materials that these companies provide are not necessarily produced locally. The bits of steel used in the scaffolding could easily have come from mainland Europe or China due to the UK's falling steel industry. Perhaps this is one of the reasons for the flat to be built with a concrete frame - an effort to use materials that is easier to produce locally.
