What are the dominant fossil fuels used in your country? The main fossil fuels used in the United States are currently Oil, Natural Gas, and Coal. Where are the dominant fossil fuels mainly used for in your country? (e.g. transport, industry, non-energy use etc.) Oil, Natural Gas and Coal are mainly used for Transportation and Industry in the United States, and for the production of electricity which then powers Industrial and Other uses. It is your task to create a new policy in order to improve the environmental friendly and sustainable sources and consumption of energy of your country. How would you do that? Think of how you can improve the sources and the consumption of energy. In order to reduce the use of fossil fuels, spur investment in renewable energy sources and encourage the conservation of energy, I would support enacting a comprehensive carbon tax plan (as is already in effect in many Western European countries). For example in Germany, a carbon tax reduced emissions from fossil fuels by 2.5% over only 4 years, and has continued to be an effective tool in combating climate change and encouraging the creation of green-energy jobs.
