I work in the construction industry and this is a picture I took of some 1½” galvanized steel anchor bolts for embedment in reinforced concrete columns. This project is just outside of St. Jon’s, Newfoundland, Canada. These bolts show how a globalized economy is involved in the construction industry because the raw 1½” stock they were cut from was American made and the process of cutting, threading, welding and galvanization were done in Ontario Canada.
