This photo is taken in Brugge Market Place in September 2016. It depicts people, most of them are tourists, walked along the street in the Place. The main road is on the left side of the picture, which is shared by cars, buses and bicycles. You can observe buildings, a statue, flags, a crossroad and a sign as visible objects. The crossroad is a sign that pedestrian can cross the street safely. The prohibit sign indicate that the street ahead is prohibited for private cars. Invisible information: (1) How many people are visiting this place? Where do they come from? Which time is the most popular for people visiting Brugge? When the place will be crowded, and why? (2) After tourists arrived at the market place, what should they do? What should they travel next? Where they can find the information about traveling in the city? Invisible information from (1) can be made visible by visualizing and analyzing travel pattern of tourists as well as locals in order to manage the infrastructure of the city. Should they put more buses and information staffs in the high season? This information also help the city’s tourists authority plan to manage the attractions, proper time for renovations, and advertising budget on the target more efficient.
