a. Provisioning services Food: Rivers in Bosnia and Herzegovina are rich with fish and make up a big portion of local food intake. Raw materials: Most of the wood used in Bosnia and Herzegovina are from our woods. Still, a lot of people are illegaly cutting down trees and using it as firewood. b. Regulating services, Erosion prevention and maintenance of soil fertility: In 2014 a huge landslide happend due to the floods. Landslides had a huge effects on local residential areas in several cities. A lot of it was caused because of illegal construction on steep terrain. The existance of trees there certinaly saved a lot of houses from destruction. c. Habitat or supporting services: Bosnia and Herzegovina's rich nature is a habitat to a range different species. One of the most important ecosystems providing a life for different species is Perucica. Its one of the last remaining primeval forests in Europe. The animal population is diverse and considerable. Bear, chamois, boar, wolf, pine marten and mink marten, wild cat, fox, and wild goats have been sighted in the forest. d. Cultural services: The surrounding forests with several rivers and lakes provide a great environment for biking, hiking and camping.
