In this exercise we would like you to: Upload a photo from your area, or the closest urban area, (the photo must be taken by you) and comment all the information that is visible in this photo. Visible information: - the lights in the windows of the skyscrapers - building materials of the buildings - advertisements for brands on sale in Dubai mall - people watching the Dubai fountain - boats and people on these boats watching the Dubai fountain - the lights and the status of the construction for the extension of Dubai mall Identify and present two "invisible information" that can be extracted out of the visible information of this photo. - the lit windows of the skyscrapers could be used to estimate occupancy levels of these buildings - the number of people watching the spectacle of the Dubai fountain could be used to estimate total tourism in Dubai and the distribution of tourists by gender, nationalities, age, etc. Select one of your choices from the previous question and describe how this invisible information can become knowledge and contribute to the planning of a more livable urban space. -occupancy levels can be combined with information on current and future housing demand to understand the supply and demand of the real estate market in a city. This information can then be used for the planning of new housing projects such as apartment buildings and villas
