In the picture, a typical two story house in Cuenca-Ecuador is shown. The most traditional technic is the use of steel and reinforced concrete. For the roof, artisanal tiles, fabricated in clay, are used. The walls are built with solid or hollow bricks of artisanal fabrication, and plastered with mortar of cement and sand. In Ecuador there is tiles, bricks and cement production. But the steel is imported from China and other countries.
